This cookie policy explains how Media Advancements Limited, trading as Claims Gate, uses Cookies on www.claimsgate.co.uk (the “Website”). Please read it with our Privacy Policy.
What Cookies are
1. Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, mobile phone) when you visit it. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. In this policy we call them all “Cookies”.
2. Media Advancements Limited uses Cookies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and UK data protection law.
Your choice
3. When you first visit the Website, a banner asks whether you accept marketing Cookies. We set none until you choose Accept. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, none are set and the Website works in the same way.
4. We remember your choice on your device, so the banner does not appear on every page.
Cookies we use
5. Strictly necessary. These are needed for the Website to work and to respect your choice, so they cannot be switched off:
a. cg-consent (local storage, set by us): remembers whether you accepted or rejected marketing Cookies. It stays until you clear your browser’s storage.
6. Visitor statistics. We count visits with GoatCounter, which sets no Cookies and does not identify you or follow you across other websites. It records the page you visit, the website you came from, your browser, your screen size and your country.
7. Marketing (only if you accept). We use Google Ads conversion tracking to find out which of our adverts lead to enquiries. When you arrive from a Google advert and then send us an enquiry, Google Ads counts it as a lead. Google sets these Cookies on the Website:
a. _gcl_au: an identifier Google uses to measure which adverts lead to enquiries. Kept for 90 days.
b. _gcl_aw: the Google advert click that brought you to the Website. Kept for 90 days.
8. Google may also set or read Cookies on its own domains (such as google.com and doubleclick.net) when its tag runs. Google is responsible for those Cookies. See how Google uses cookies in advertising and Google’s Privacy Policy.
9. We do not use these Cookies to show you adverts based on your visit to the Website (remarketing).
Changing your choice
10. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page. If you reject marketing Cookies after accepting them, we remove the _gcl_ Cookies set on the Website from your browser.
11. You can also block or delete Cookies in your browser’s settings. For more information, including how to delete Cookies, see aboutcookies.org.
Contact Us
12. You may contact Media Advancements Limited by email at info@mediaadvancements.com.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
13. We will update this policy when the Cookies we use change, and change the date at the top of this page.
